All the details you need! Will be posted on FB and distributed through the email list as well.

Whats a wort challenge? It’s basically a split brew day. 515 will mash-in and prepare the wort, we will collect a 5.5 gal batch of wort and finish the brew day at home. The best part is the winner of the challenge will get to brew their recipe with 515 on their pro setup!

Location: 515 Brewing Company (7700 Ste C, University Ave, Clive)

    Date/Time: May 6th, 10am to 11am

    Description:

We are putting together a wort challenge for members of the IBU with 515 Brewing in Clive! $25 per 5.5 gal wort provided by 515. Multiple entries per person allowed.

The grain bill is listed below, but feel free to get creative with the rest of the process! We do ask that no lagers or sours are entered to keep things simple.

    45% pale
    35% golden promise
    10% Vienna
    3-4% Carapils
~5% crystal and honey malt for color just so it has some character
I was told they are going to mash around 154, so there should be plenty of residual sugars available.

Pick up will be from 10am to 11am Saturday, May 6th.

Final judging will be four weeks later on June 4th, so make sure to drop your beer off to the 515 taproom before then.

We will need to submit two bottles of at least 12 oz. Each bottle will need a bottle ID form attached with rubber bands- just like the IBU Open. See the attached bottle entry form.

Feel free to ask any questions, and good luck!

Any updates on the results of this, or has judging not happened yet?

We have been told that they have made a decision and are putting together winners in an email out to the club. We will post it as soon as we get it. Any moment now.
